Christine Lasher is an artist trapped in a high tech executive’s life.
Christine’s poetry is published in an anthology entitled “Keys to Silence” and her work has been incorporated into university curricula on the topic of gender dynamics. She was selected for the international speaking series, Listen To Your Mother, in 2016 and The Rochester Fringe Festival in 2017 and is actively working to publish a full length book entitled “She Said” on the topic of domestic violence as well. She is beginning work on a documentary film on the same subject and blogs about life and shenanigans here.
As a photographer, she loves to be barefoot and loose with a camera and an idea. Her photography is diverse ranging from portraiture and theater, to landscape and sports. Her work has been featured on a Regional Theater website and on the front page of the Democrat & Chronicle’s Living Section. She has also delivered commissioned landscape work and portraiture as well.
In February 2016 she was featured in Ciao Bella Studio’s Finding Your Fierce photography blog and in March 2016 she was interviewed on the ROC Soup radio talk show. In both forums she discussed the importance of voice.
Her greatest accomplishments to date are nurturing the vibrant spirits of her four children and the vehemence with which she has reclaimed her own voice against all odds.
Christine looks forward to someday making her living doing what she loves the most: writing, photography and helping others to heal. In the meantime, she is keeping the lights on by working as a Strategic Account Manager for a high tech company where she was recently awarded two prestigious awards, “Most Valuable Player” and “Leading the Way”, for exemplifying a will to win and for delivering key programs ahead of schedule. Christine has experience with communications, marketing, strategic planning, partner and customer relationship management, sales, and operations. She is also a Global Ambassador in the communications area for a non-profit organization that pairs technology with social impact addressing issues such as disease epidemic and natural disaster.
Christine’s alma mater is Colgate University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
She is currently located in Rochester, NY, where she is raising her four children as a single mother (one at graduate school, one completing undergraduate study, and two in high school).
